It all started on an Outdoor Centre course
Ten years ago, my husband and I met, for the very first time, at Pocaterra Hut in Kananaskis. We were attending/participating in an Advanced Cross Country Ski course organized by the University of Calgary Outdoor Center. This past winter, January 2019, we returned to this same venue to introduce our beautiful seven year old daughter, Arizona, to cross country skiing. To ensure she had a good experience, we registered her in the Jackrabbit Ski course run by U of C. Arizona had a blast on her ski course, and we took the opportunity to ski some of the great trails through the area! Occasionally we would cross paths with Arizona and her new ski buddies as they mastered the various aspects of cross-country skiing. They were clearly having a great time! By the end of the course, we were able to ski together as a family and reflect on how the University of Calgary Cross Country Ski programs changed our lives forever.
